Vaastu Tips For Your Kitchen

 

Kitchen Room:

Kitchen room is a place, where you cook your everyday food. If a kitchen is made in a wrong corner will lead to problems in relationship; risk of fire related accident, problems related to health and problems regarding kids. You must have to consider quite several factors, while constructing your home kitchen. You must be very considerable in placing the sink, location of the gas, refrigerator, gas cylinder, and other more. We have to take care of the following points while studying about the vastu of the kitchen

 

Proper location of the kitchen in the house.

The right place to set your kitchen is in the south-east corner. If you never find an apt position, then you can avail the alternative of locating it in the north-west corner
Building kitchen in north-east, mid-west, mid-north, mid-south, south-west or in the centre is strictly not recommended, as they are out of Vastu norms
While constructing the kitchen, make adequate provision for cross ventilation.

 

The direction and placement of the windows.
The big windows of the kitchen should be in the east direction, while the smaller ones should be towards the south.

 

The direction and placement of the cooking gas.
Make sure that the cooking platform does not touch eastern or northern wall.
The best direction for cooking is facing east, as this direction is considered to be auspicious.
Keep in mind that the stove in your kitchen should never be visible from the outside. It can lead to digestion problems for the family members.

The direction for serving food.
Food should never be served in the center of the kitchen.

 

The direction and placement of the sink.
Remember that taps and sinks should not be very close to the cooking range. Fire and water repel against each other.
It's best to have the kitchen sink in the northeast direction. If there is a dishwasher in the kitchen, place it in the northwest side of the kitchen. The other water elements like drinking water should be placed in the northeast.

 

The direction and placement of the electric equipments.
Clocks in the kitchen should always be placed on the south or the southwest walls.
The Geyser should be installed on the Southeast side.
The exhaust fan should be installed either in the Northwest corner or the South wall.
The refrigerator should be placed in the southwest direction. Exhaust fans in the kitchen should always be fitted on the eastern walls in the southeast corner. Other electrical appliances, like microwave, should be put in the southeast corner.

 

The direction and placement of the gas cylinders.
The cylinder should be placed in the Southeast corner.

 

The direction and placement of storage.
The storage for all the food grains, utensils, the over head almirah should always be on the Southern and the western walls and not on the Northern and the Eastern walls.
If your kitchen has overhead storage cupboards, avoid having them over the cooking range.
Have elaborate storage units, built in to give a clean and tidy look to the kitchen

 

The colour scheme of the kitchen.
The suitable colors for the kitchen, other than green, are soft pink and orange.

 

Direction of door.
The door of the kitchen should never face the door of the toilet.

 

Position of window.
There should be big windows on the Eastern/Northern side and smaller on Western/Southern wall.

 

Prohibited location and rooms near to kitchen.
There should be no toilets and bathrooms adjoining, and above or below the kitchen.
